Saying Goodbye to Chief Konrath and Hello to Chief Kowalski

At the December 5th board meeting, Village President Butch Meyer and the Village Board presented a well-earned recognition plaque to former Police Chief Joe Konrath.  It was bittersweet to say goodbye to Chief Konrath, but the Village is very excited to wish him the best in his new role as Marquette County Sheriff.  Chief Konrath started with the Village in 1988 and shortly thereafter was promoted from Officer to Chief.  He has been a wonderful asset to the Village of Oxford and has left some big shoes to fill.

Ready to take on the challenge is Mike Kowalski.  He has already been an integral part of the Village of Oxford Police Department and Community as an Officer for the Village since 2007.  Many of you know him already as a K-9 officer for Marquette County, providing an invaluable service along side his K-9, Axel.  The Village Board appointed Mike to his new roll as Police Chief following Chief Konrath’s farewell, and he was sworn in by the Clerk.  We already know he’ll do a fantastic job.

Please join us in wishing both Joe Konrath and Mike Kowalski a heartfelt congratulations!
